Hi dear followers,

Despite the actual circumstances (I’m talking of the containment linked to the covid-19), I wanted to present you a new spot. It will be difficult to see it by yourself during the following weeks, but when this will be over, I’m sure you will enjoy taking a walk there.

“L’île de Nantes”

This is basically a neighborhood in the middle of Nantes, surrounded by “la Loire”. You can reach it by public transport or by foot (there is two bridges near Nantes’s center).

“L’île de Nantes” is a former industrial wasteland specialized in the naval industry. Today it has been renovated, but there is still many facilities who can remind you of the island’s past. For instance the buildings, the rails on the ground or the big yellow crane.

On this island there is several activities to do and I’m going to do a sum up just for you !

1- You can simply have a walk on the edges of the island, there is many benches and green spaces. So if you want to have a picnic this is the perfect place.

2- There is several places to eat or drinks (bars and even a restaurant on a boat).

3- If you are sporty, you will enjoy the basket and skate areas just at the entrance of this island

4- The two main attractions are “L’Elephant” and the “Carrousel”. L’éléphant is a huge articulated elephant made in wood and steel. It moves, spit water, and you can even get on the top of it during its walk. And the Carrousel is a big merry-go-round with creatures of Jules Verne’s fantastic novel “Vingt Mille lieues sous les mers”. So you can ride strange unknown aquatic animals.

5- If you are reading this post, you are either a teacher or a student. If you are a student you may already know that there is many bars and clubs on “le boulevard des Antilles”.

If I managed to get your attention with this incredible “spot” (which is quite wide…), first I’m glad, and then you can click on the link below if you are looking for more information or photos.
